Kelly Survives a Drunk Driver on Christmas Day

Hi, my name is Kelly Ayala. On the morning of this past Christmas Day around 2:30 AM, I was driving home when I had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Out of nowhere, a drunk driver who was driving on the wrong side of the highway smashed into me on i40-highway in Durham, North Carolina head-on. Thanks to the grace of God and the safety features of my car, I was able to live to tell my story.

This tragedy has left me with serious physical and emotional injuries, as well as more mundane, but no less painful, the financial aftermath of medical bills and lost wages.

With that in mind, I'm humbly asking for your support to help me get back on my feet. It's hard to be optimistic after something like this, but I'm trying to focus on the future with hope and gratitude. I’m determined to make the most out of this difficult situation and to use this experience as an opportunity to help others in similar circumstances as mine.
