On Tuesday June 10th, 2025 a 2-alarm fire occurred just after 8am on Essington Rd in Joliet, IL. The fire started on the 1st floor of the apartment complex and went all the way up to the top of the building where three people had to be rescued, one person sent to the hospital and all occupants have been displaced.

My sibling Kelly Jacobi is a music therapist for Lightways Hospice. Kelly was getting ready to go to work when the fire broke out. Kelly's apartment was the unit right below where the fire started and has sustained serious smoke and water damage. They have been displaced and will be moving to a new apartment as they have most likely lost everything.

Kelly has renters insurance but has no idea what will be covered. Currently they are not allowed back in the building to take pictures to file their claim. We need to replace all furniture, clothes, and many musical instruments that are used on a daily basis as a music therapist for hospice patients.
