I am sad and heart broken to share this news. Kelly passed away early this morning (9/20/25). Only a few people knew what was going on from day one as we tried to keep it mostly private as we were trying to process everything.

On 8/5/2025, Kelly went to work as normal. Late morning he went to the ED in Seattle. By that afternoon, we found out he had a 20cm tumor in his bladder, which then spread to his liver and lungs. Less than a year ago, he had a lung cancer screening and a MRI done and he did not have any tumors. The doctors said his cancer was very aggressive.

Basically, Kelly spent most of August and September at the hospital where he had multiple tests and treatments which included several blood transfusions and a round of chemo. The chemo seemed to make the cancer very angry and with how weak Kelly was and how aggressive the cancer was, more chemo was not the answer. While Kelly was in the hospital, he developed a DVT blood clot in his leg. That brought more challenges.

Friday September 12th, we decided Kelly should move to the hospice house and that is where he was when he took his final breath early this morning.

Life can change in a minute. I know my life will never be the same, but I am so grateful to have spent 30 1/2 years with Kelly (29 years married).
