My name is Theresa Rockhold and I am fundraising for my twin sister, Kelly Cook.

Kelly has gone through many difficulties in the last 2 1/2 years. In March 2020, our mom was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. In May 2020, Kelly's husband, Chris, was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. At the time of the diagnosis, Kelly and Chris lived in Lake Charles, LA. Kelly continued to work to provide health insurance, in addition to caring for Chris. In August 2020, Kelly and Chris were displaced due to Hurricane Laura and moved back to Cape Girardeau, MO. Chris continued to receive care for his cancer and was unable to work. Kelly continued to work and was Chris's only caregiver.

Our mother, Pat lost her battle with cancer in June 2021. Chris lost his battle with cancer on July 30, 2022. On August 10th, Kelly was seen in the ER due to pain in her side. She was told that the CT scan of the abdomen showed some suspicion of ovarian cancer. A diagnosis of Stage 3 ovarian cancer was confirmed on August 22nd. What a blow to our family!

Kelly has a long road ahead of her. She is still grieving her husband and is now in the fight for her life, literally. Kelly will begin chemotherapy and require surgery in the near future. She has used her vacation time to take Chris to and from doctor appointments. She is left with a mountain of medical bills for Chris's medical care. She is in desperate need of financial assistance.
