Hello everyone,

My name is Kelly, and I’m 50 years old

Last December, my life changed in an instant. I was diagnosed with not one, But two stage 4 cancers ,ovarian and bile duct cancer. It was a shock — a deep, life-altering shock , especially because all of my scans up to that point had looked fine. Then suddenly, they found multiple tumors. It felt like they came out of nowhere, overnight.

Living with this diagnosis is a daily battle. These tumors are spread throughout my abdomen, and the pain is constant. Some days are harder than others, but every single day, I’m fighting.

Chemotherapy wasn’t an option for me as bile duct cancer tends to resist it, and in my case, it wouldn’t have made a difference. The doctors gave me a timeline of six to twelve months to live. That’s a hard thing to hear. But I decided that, however long I have, I want to truly live it. Not just survive it.

This journey has affected me deeply, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The pain is real. The fear is real. But so is the love I receive, and the hope I hold onto ❤️

It’s hard enough to face one cancer… but two? It’s exhausting. It challenges every part of who I am. Some days I find it hard to smile, to be “positive,” to show up as the person others expect me to be. It’s not always easy for others to understand what it’s like, unless you’ve been there yourself. That loneliness, That feeling of isolation, can be one of the heaviest parts.

But even in that darkness, there’s light. I have a few incredibly good friends. My children have been nothing short of amazing. They have stood beside me with understanding, love, and support that has helped carry me through my toughest days.

Right now, I’m on strong medications to manage the pain, but I dream of a day when I won’t need them .When I might beat the odds and find healing. That’s why I’m choosing to move forward on a holistic path. I believe there’s more to healing than medicine alone. There’s hope. There’s belief. There’s the human spirit.

I still see a future for myself — not just as a survivor, but as someone who gives back. I want to become an accredited counsellor or psychotherapist, so I can help others who are walking through their own storms.
