In Memory of Kelly Kendrick Ahuja

6 months from diagnosis to absolute devastation.

In late summer of 2024, Kelly started to experience unusual symptoms that resulted in a visit to the emergency room. Tests revealed the absolute worst - a brain tumour. Kelly underwent surgery, and while surgeons were able to remove portions, some of the tumour was inaccessible. Hope that it was benign remained while the biopsy samples were processed by pathology. The results, however, brought another life-shattering diagnosis - an advanced brain tumour called Grade 4 Glioblastoma. 

Radiation and chemotherapy started in the fall. Times were impossible, and setbacks with treatment followed when Kelly became incredibly sick and ended up in the hospital with liver failure. It was determined that she was allergic to her chemo drugs.

The last few weeks were incredibly tough. Blood clots in Kelly’s lungs developed, followed by an infection. Kelly was admitted to the hospital this past week and ultimately succumbed to this awful disease.

Throughout it all, Kelly’s strength and positive attitude during her unimaginable battle were beyond admirable. Kelly put up one hell of a fight, and if anyone was ever going to kick Glioblastoma’s butt, it was her.

Kelly leaves behind the most precious and sweetest miracle, her 6 year old son Billy. To help honour Kelly, we are raising funds in her memory. Half of the funds raised will go to help Mike and Billy while they adjust to life without their beloved wife and mother, the other half will go into a registered RESP for Billy.
