Our mother suddenly passed on Tuesday June 12, 2018. We were all very unprepared. She was the backbone of our family. She loved her children (all 10 of them) and grandchildren more than anything. We are starting this fund to have a place family and friends can donate to in lieu of flowers.
The day Kelly passed our newest nephew only a week old, her 13th grandchild, underwent open heart surgery at Duke University. She and other members of our family have made sure their gas has been covered, hotels have been covered and meals have been covered so Jaxons parents could focus on him and only him. He pulled through like a champ, and she never even got to know he made it.
She also paid for the other grandchildren’s activities and sports and made sure they had every opportunity to excel. Bought their school supplies every year. Bought new clothes any time they needed it. Spoiled them enough on Christmas that most of the time our job as parents was to fill a stocking and that’s it. Our mother would, and has, given her last dime to all of us in our time of need.
The money raised will go directly to her grandchildren who absolutely adored her. I think they especially loved the candy they were allowed to have... the full sized ones, or maybe it was the Toys R Us trips. She had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all of us. But we all know she is in heaven with our sister Kayla, right where she wanted to be.
Thank you all from from the bottom of our hearts.
