Hello!

My name is Kelly, and one year ago while I was leading a mission trip in South America, the Lord put Norway and YWAM on my heart. Now, he has opened the door and I have the opportunity to attend a discipleship training school (DTS) with Youth With a Mission (YWAM)! YWAM Ålesund is a mission training center located on the lovely west coast of Norway. They are a community with a burning desire to help others, and to make a difference. Their vision is to have God at the center of all they do!

This DTS is a 5-month program, starting in January 2021. For three months I will be in Norway, attending the missions school and learning from teachers from all over the world. For the final two months, I will do outreach in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

In PNG, we will live in remote villages and work alongside with local initiatives to develop communities. These activities can include teaching on faith and creativity, working together with individuals and families to build their communities. We will also be partnering with YWAM Medical Ships, which is a training and medical ship and land-based team in PNG. They work to see major sustainable health improvement and education in PNG, defining health as being not simply the absence of illness but the presence of wellbeing. With a holistic approach, the shared goal is healthy villages building a healthy nation. Most of all, we will serve as the hands and feet of Jesus!

The cost of the DTS is just over $7,000 USD (65,000 NOK). I am praying to raise $10,000 to help with my travel expenses, required vaccinations, and Norwegian Residency Permit, in addition to the cost of the program.
