Kelly Anne Broderick Memorial Scholarship Fund

Please join us by donating or participating in the “Summer Plunge 2019” to raise money for a scholarship fund honoring our beloved niece Kelly Anne Broderick. Kelly Anne was killed by a drunk driver 7 months ago at the age of 27 while she was traveling to the airport to head off on an adventure to Iceland. She was living her life to the fullest as she always did.

Because of how incredibly well she lived her life Kelly Anne’s family and friends are inspired to be better and to carry out more acts of kindness. It’s our way of remembering Kelley Anne and celebrating her. 

The “Summer Plunge 2019” was actually an idea that our 5-year twins came up with. The back story is a memory that we cherish.  In the winter of 2018 Kelly Anne came all the way from Denver to NJ to do the “Polar Plunge” with her Uncle Joe,  her cousins Megan and Lauren and our family friend Rich. 

They embraced the experience and even dressed up in lime green tutus  (well not Joe and Rich, but the girls did!) as they plunged into the freezing cold Atlantic Ocean.

They plunged for charity,  for the adventure but most of all they plunged for the sheer joy of having a reason to spend quality time together.

A year later this crew plunged again but this time with a big hole in their hearts and without Kelly Anne by their side. Nevertheless, they showed up and they made a difference.

When we asked our 5 year old twins if they would plunge one year as part of this tradition, Connor quickly said “no way that’s too cold, but I am definitely in for the “Summer Plunge”. And so the idea was born and this is one of the ways we intend to celebrate and honor Kelly Anne.

Connor and Kelsey are taking the “Summer Plunge 2019”. We are seeking donations to sponsor their efforts to raise money for a scholarship fund in Kelley Anne’s memory.

How can you participate?

2. Join us 8/31 in Lavallette, NJ and take the “Summer Plunge” with us!
