Let’s band together to help Kel and her kids through this incredibly emotional journey and help them rebuild their lives.

On Wednesday 5th June, Kel and her kids lost their century-old home in Lilydale (Victoria) to a devastating fire that involved an incredible response from our remarkable emergency services.

You may have seen it in news reports or social media posts but these cannot capture the raw pain that Kel and her family are enduring.

The fire struck during daylight hours. The fire randomly started in the roof according to the emergency services. It was so fortunate Kel and the kids were not home at the time.

The emotional toll is immeasurable. They are safe, staying with relatives, yet no doubt their hearts are aching. They have lost nearly everything yet remarkably Macs room and belongings were damaged only by water used to extinguish the enormous flames.

Kel’s steadfast friend shared the heroic efforts of the response units in a social media post.. These brave souls worked tirelessly into the night, salvaging remnants of Kel’s home and shielding neighboring houses from the inferno. But as she wisely reminds us, homes can be rebuilt—lives cannot.

Let’s rally around Kel and her kids, showing them love and support. What they have lost is unfathomable to comprehend.
