My name is Kelli Duncan and I am a graduate student at Georgia State University obtaining a Master in Business Administration in Organizational Management. I am so excited to announce my acceptance to a study abroad program at the esteemed Toulouse Business School in Toulouse, France this May.
I’m ecstatic for this opportunity for one of 3 reasons:
1. Going to Europe has been one of my biggest childhood dreams. I can’t believe the time has come for me to achieve it! I am a huge fan of reading and historical fiction has been one of my favorite genres since I was 8. Lots of what I read took place in Europe.
2. I didn’t have the chance to study abroad during my undergraduate career. I entered college with lots of AP credits, so I took limited General/core classes. Having a rather specific undergraduate major in Actuarial Science, I could hardly find many affordable opportunities to receive course credit in my major abroad. This trip not only counts toward my masters, but it also will be a great signal to future employers that I am adventurous, open minded, and adaptable.
3. I took French as my choice of foreign language from 4th grade up until I graduated high school. It would be a great way to refresh my memory and practice what I’ve learned thus far.
The total cost to study abroad is $4,500, which includes round trip airfare, housing, meals, tuition and fees, etc. I have been awarded a $1,000 scholarship toward the trip and I’m doing a great deal to save on my own.
