Kelli's Plea for Joe's Hospice Care Support

Hello, My name is Kelli Pollinger. I am the wife of Joe Pollinger. I have had the privilege of being married to this wonderful man for almost 33 years. He is the love of my life. We were living a great life together until he was stricken with a sudden illness on Dec. 14th 2024. He was diagnosed with Necrotizing Pancreatitis. In all of my 31 years as an RN, I never had a patient with this disease. I had no idea what my husband was about to endure. It has been 6 months of agonizing and relentless severe health issues. He was hospitalized a total of 8 times and spent 2 months in an acute rehab in Troy PA. He lost a total of 96 lbs. He had a feeding tube for nutrition, drainage tube for a retroperitoneal abscess, a very large pseudo cyst on his pancreas which became infected and PICC line for months of IV antibiotics. After months of battling this disease recovery looked grim. Joe chose to go on Hospice and asked me to take him home, which I was agreeable to. He deserves to pass peacefully in his home after all he has endured.

Due to his severe illness and multiple admissions at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, P.A. Plus lengthy time spent in Guthrie Troy Rehab Center in Troy, PA, I have accumulated an overwhelming amount of debt in medical bills, hotel expenses etc. Plus, I will have to pay for funeral arrangements.
