Kelli's Birthday Hysterectomy Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hello Friends!
I'm asking for help covering the medical costs for a partial hysterectomy which will provide me relief from the chronic pain, fatigue, and stress the disorder endometriosis has caused me.
What is endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a disorder involving heavy and painful periods, chronic pelvic, back, and leg pain, as well as hormonal and reproductive dysfunction.
Endometriosis is endometrial tissue, (the tissue that lines the uterus and sheds monthly) occuring in places it shouldn’t. These places are usually the uterus, ovaries, and bowels. Every month these endometrial tissues bleed, which can cause scar tissue to form. Over time this scar tissue can cause the affected organs to adhere to one another. Endometriosis is a fun combo of autoimmune, hormonal, and genetic factors, but unfortunately they still haven't found an exact cause or a cure.
In addition to endo, I am also currently undergoing treatment for issues with my thyroid. They found a nodule, which caused a cancer scare for a few weeks. I am so happy to report that my chance for malignancy was low, but I still need to undergo additional treatment once I am healed from this procedure.
I am asking for this assistance to circumvent the financial stress of my procedure so I can focus on my recovery. My current monthly budget is air tight. Additional bills will hurt. Working multiple jobs is currently challenging as fatigue and pain are my biggest day to day obstacles. My recovery will be extensive so working multiple jobs post surgery will also not be comfortable for a while. Lastly, I would like to avoid adding more medical debt to the existing debt I am chipping away at.
Please know - asking for this kind of help is like nails on a chalkboard for me, but I am trying to overcome my discomfort and put my health first. It is my birthday this month so I am jokingly and lovingly calling this my birthday hysterectomy fundraiser.
I am very hopeful that this procedure will allow me a more full life. I have felt in the hallway for a long time and often had to back burner creative pursuits and pause life due to this condition. I would love to feel like a whole human again.
A partial hysterectomy also means no more periods. No more periods! The majority of my pain occurs during my menstrual cycle, so no more periods would significantly improve my quality of life.
A partial hysterectomy will also retain my ovaries which will help me to avoid premature menopause while reducing the chance of multiple repeat surgeries. This will hopefully also give me a longer period of relief than my initial diagnostic surgery from 2019. It has only been 3 years and the pain has already returned.

Achieving my max goal would allow me to completely cover the costs of the surgery. Even getting a portion of this would be amazing. A break down of what the funds will be used for is below:
Medical Fees:
Hospital Fee: $1000
Doctors Fee: $1000
Anesthesiologist: $200
Post surgery Physical Therapy: $300
Total Goal: $2,500.00
If you are not a supporter of the chosen fundraiser platform - I also have venmo, FB pay, and paypal. My surgery is July 18 and anything you can help with is so immensely appreciated!
