Kellie Williamson's Funeral and Memorial Expenses

Donation protected
I am writing this on the behalf of my adopted family, the Williamsons. Both Kellie Williamson, and Tyler, her son, would give anyone the shirt off their back and the last piece of food in their fridge to help anyone and not think twice about it. They have been through so much and never asked anyone for help or complained and have kept their faith through this journey even when it’s been the most challenging. Kellie and Tyler are two of the most selfless people I have ever known.

Kellie Williamson was initially diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2021. Due to other extreme health issues and concerns she was not a candidate for surgery, so she chose to undergo chemotherapy. They attempted a few different types of chemo, however, it has not been effective. As time has passed, the cancer has traveled to her adrenal gland, then to her ribs where it fractured one of her ribs, and then it made its way to her liver, which was already failing from her prior health issues, putting her in stage 4. After this diagnosis, a couple weeks later, she developed pneumonia and went into the emergency room where when they went to discharge her, she fell and fractured her knee. When they did the xray/scans from the fall, they found more cancer in her knee as well. Since the fall, she has been unable to walk and has remained in the hospital. While in the hospital she has been in and out of awareness. For the first couple of weeks, she was completely unaware of her surroundings and what was going on. Her oncologist has come in and adjusted her pain medications and has her lucid, but she still stays confused some. Her doctor does believe the cancer has also spread to her brain, but it has not been confirmed. Due to the new find, they have decided to stop all treatments.

Tyler Williamson, Kellie’s son, and Pam Hinton, Kellie’s mother, both sat down with the doctor on 12/28/2023 to discuss Kellie’s health condition and future health plan. They have decided to not put her through physical therapy and allow Kellie to come home and enjoy what time she has left with her family. Kellie was brave enough to ask how much time she had left, and he told her wasn’t comfortable saying, because truly you never know. However, he seemed to believe she has a couple weeks up to 4 months left with us.

Tyler has been doing all he can to work 2-3 jobs and be there for his mother. These two are probably the closest mother and son bond you could come across. They have been through fire and back with each other. Tyler has spent every lunch break, moment after work and time on his off days at the hospital checking on her, feeding her. He’s taken time off to be with her as well.

Today, 1/4/2024, they moved Kellie home to hospice care. The nurses helped get her settled in and made sure she was comfortable before they left for the day. As she was surrounded by her mother, Pam and Tyler, her son, she passed peacefully in her sleep early this evening.

Kellie does not have any sort of life insurance, or any burial funds set aside. Tyler will be missing a lot of work as they prepare to lay Kellie to rest and as he takes time for himself to grieve, but the bills do not stop.

I am asking anyone reading this to please help support this family with current and future financial assistance and funeral expenses.

Please send your thoughts and prayer for the Williamsons and the Hintons, as this part of their journey will be the toughest.

If you are unable to donate financially, please just take a moment and share this GoFundMe to help this family out on their journey through this difficult time.
*All financial contributions to the GoFundMe will go directly to Tyler Williamson and be used towards funeral expenses and to cover any bills or expenses while Tyler is off work. *
