Kellie Saunders Loy - Medical Bills and Expenses

Hi, My name is Belinda Talkington. I have volunteered at The Rabbit Tree rabbit rescue in Hedgesville WV for the last year or so. I have permission from Kellie's husband to share this information and start this gofundme.

Kellie Saunders Loy, the bunny angel behind The Rabbit Tree rabbit rescue, suffered a burst brain aneurysm Saturday morning, 1/6/24. She was home alone and got 911 called somehow. Fifty percent of people do not make it to the hospital and only 30% of that 50% survive. She has had brain surgery and is recovering. She is talking and knows when, where and why she is there. She is responding properly to neurological questioning.

The doctors say her prognosis is good but there may be another brain surgery needed. She will be in ICU for 2 weeks, then moved to a regular room, then off work for an undetermined amount of time once she gets home. Her husband has taken a LOA to help her, for an undetermined amount of time as well.

Kellie and her husband both work full time factory jobs, 12 hour shifts. It is not easy to pay the mortgage, utilities and keep the rescue running while both are able to work. It will be a greater challenge to do so without both incomes.

I want to be clear that this fundraiser is not for the 501c charity itself. It’s for medical expenses and keeping the lights on while she recovers. However, if you would rather, you can donate at www.TheRabbitTree.org instead for the bunnies.

I don't like many people. Kellie is different. She is special. She is delightful to be around. She gives so much of herself. She has had a hard life but still maintains such love in her heart. Kellie lives for those bunnies. She also rescues cats, guinea pigs, gerbils and mice. I think she's rescued a couple people as well, but that's not part of the rabbit rescue. That's just out of the goodness of her mushy heart.
