Kelley’s Kicking Cancer Campaign

We’ve all experienced a sore throat. Often times it’s just an annoyance that goes away on its own. But for Kelley (Templeton) Hill, it was much more.
    In the spring of 2017 Kelley experienced multiple sore throats that eventually developed into a lump in her neck. She was told by multiple medical professionals that it was just an infection, but doctors at The James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio diagnosed her in July 2017 with throat cancer.
    The cancer started at the base of her tongue and spread to the lymph nodes in her neck and to her collarbone. She had six weeks of daily radiation and three chemotherapy treatments.
    In January of 2018 Kelley’s doctors told her the treatment had been effective; however, a new, suspicious spot showed up on a PET Scan. It, too, is located in her throat. Additional testing in February will determine whether it is cancer.
