An interview with Reese Masita from St Kilda CC.
Following a really successful year and track season over the Summer of 2015/2016, I have again been selected on a 13 member squad for the privilege of representing Australia at the UCI Junior Track World Championships in Aigle, Switzerland July 20-24, 2016.
In order for me to travel and compete we need to raise a really significant levy and all inclusive costs will be several thousand dollars. This is a huge amount to my family who are not in any kind of position to outlay such an amount; therefore a big fundraising effort is underway. This fundraising campaign is also time sensitive with only 12 weeks until we (the team) are due to join together in Adelaide prior to leaving for Switzerland; payments are due in April and June.
I want to acknowledge the immense support I received last year to make the trip to Astana possible and want to express gratitude for that. If you donated, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am very blessed indeed, but please understand that even though well supported last year, the same need is present now.
If I am to make the most of these opportunities and to grow into the best and most experienced rider I want to be, I am going to need your help and the help of others.
Most important in the fundraising process will be donations made by friends, family local businesses and the cycling community. I really hope you will consider helping me out. My family and I would be so grateful for any help you can offer towards this trip to Switzerland this year, so I can make the most of this amazing opportunity in my cycling career.
I thank you so very much for your support! I promise I will always honour the investment you've made in me by representing my country and the sport of cycling well, respecting that privilege by always digging deep and doing my absolute best and remaining teachable. I will be both encouraging and competitive in just the right amounts. I will not allow myself to be perturbed by disappointments and setbacks, I will continually develop resilience and perseverance, be a loyal team mate and a fierce competitor and I will seek to become a sportsperson who inspires younger generations.
P.S. I'd love it if you connected with me on Facebook or Instagram @kellobriencyclist to keep up to date with the fundraising efforts and all that's happening along the way.

Note: If by the extreme generosity of others, the donations to this campaign exceed the stated goal, the extra funds will only be used for the benefit of my cycling career . Things such as , travel, accommodation, race entries, equipment, allied health (massage, physio, sports psychologist etc). We struggle at the best of times to meet these costs so any funds in excess of this campaign that we can use towards these things is much appreciated.
