Keli Kicks Cancer Wig Fund
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
As most of you know, our dear, beautiful Keli has had a rare and serious recurrence of the cervical cancer that she battled 7 years ago. She will continue her fight against the cancer this week, so please keep the prayers coming. Keli, Jay and their family have consulted the best doctors at Emory and have chosen to undertake her treatment at the Winship Cancer Center there. Winship has unbelievable resources in place to support her fight.
This week the doctors will determine the best course of action for the area in her back that is causing her the most pain (surgery and/or SBRT radiation). The doctors believe this will greatly help from a pain management standpoint and make her more mobile. With mobility, Keli will be able to get stronger and get her body ready for the BIG FIGHT--CHEMO. The doctors will use the latest chemotherapy protocol to go after shrinking the cancer in her body.
With the chemo will come the harsh side effects, one of those being losing her hair. The hair loss will begin pretty soon after she begins the chemo (which is most likely in the coming weeks), so Keli is ready to rock a wig (or two)! Since so many of you have graciously reached out and asked how to help, we thought it would be an amazing gift for us all to pitch in to raise money for Keli to get that wig. We all know that Keli doesn't need a wig to be beautiful (she IS, both inside and out!!!), but maybe this gift will help to lift her spirits on hard days and feel the love and support we all have for her.
PS--If you'd like to include a message to Keli, we'll make sure to compile all the messages left and include them in a card to her...
