Keleka's Heart Journey

Aloha, I am reaching out to seek support for my son-in-law, Keleka Gerard, as he prepares to enter his journey to repair his heart.

On March 12, 2024, Keleka was taken to the Emergency Room, at Maui Memorial Medical Center due to heavy chest pains and other associated symptoms. After an extensive round of testing, it was determined that his primary aortic valve has a large aneurysm embedded at the beginning of the aorta. It was also discovered that he has no tricuspid valve and his bicuspid valve is damaged causing fluid leakage into his heart. To correct this, he is awaiting open heart surgery to remove the aneurysm and replacing the area with a mechanical valve. This procedure will take place, at Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center, Oahu.

Since then, he has been placed on light rest as he is not able to perform work related tasks which places him on medical leave until his procedure. With no income, and the heavy load of medical expenses already coming in, it places a burden for him and my daughter to provide for their family of 8.

We humbly ask for contributions to assist with medical expenses, travel and subsequent bills as we enter this journey with him, to get him back to good heart health!
