2020 has been a rough year for the world as a whole! In the country of 200 million people, Nigeria, it has been extremely tough. Fighting through COVID-19, and an inadequate government to help their citizens fight the pandemic, their youth get back to school and the things they love, and just to live their day to day lives.
As its been heard in recent news, there was an uproar in the country due to police brutality and the government oppressing the youth and their endeavors. My main purpose of starting the Kelechi Anuna Foundation in 2017 was to uplift the youth in the country.
Earlier in the year, due to all these events, especially COVID-19 that put travel bans worldwide, I decided to cancel my annual 2020 Kelechi Anuna Foundation Shoe Drive and Basketball Camp. But with everything that's going on now in Nigeria, I believe my way of giving back is having an event for the youth back home. Sometimes we believe these things are small, but we have to give the youth something to look forward to in these hard times.
I am raising money to hold a December festivities/basketball camp for the youth in Owerri and Lagos, Nigeria. With your help, we can provide these youth an outlet with everything that's going on around them!
Thanks and GOD bless!!
