I am Kel McLean from Yeppoon, Central Queensland. I was born with Cerebral palsy in 1973 and have lived a passionate life, regardless of my disability. Due to my disability, I must have my support workers drive me in a modified vehicle if I want to travel around the community. My current car has not been built for my powered wheelchair, the modifications make it isolating and challenging for my support workers to use, preventing me from accessing the community. I have to attend weekly gym sessions where I am required to take my walker with me, however, it is unsafe to have my powered wheelchair and the walker in it due to the size of the vehicle. The NDIS has acknowledged that I desperately need a bigger vehicle with modifications specified for my powered wheelchair. Unfortunately, due to my disability pension, I am unable to work, which stops me from saving to buy a new vehicle.

NDIS have approved for me to get the vehicle modifications and freedom mobility will undertake the modificatrions to the vehicle later this year. I am setting up this Go Fund Me page in hopes of raising money so that I can buy a bigger vehicle. I really need to purchase a KIA Carnival within the next couple of months.
