“BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS.
DO NOT FEAR…FOR IT IS THE LORD YOUR GOD WHO GOES WITH YOU. HE WILL NOT LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU.”
-DEUTERONOMY 31:6
Keith contracted type 2 diabetes in 2011, then in 2018, contracted the first form of the cancer called CLL. This is the cancer that started to mutate and become more aggressive since late July. This cancer lymphoma is no longer just one type of cancerous cell in his blood. It has changed into 4 different types of cancer cells that are needed to be treated. All 4 of these cells kill white blood cells, and also don't allow white blood cells that form in the bone marrow to fully mature. Since August, he has contracted anemia, a severe shortage of red blood cells, also linked to the cancer and bone marrow.
Since his first round of chemo, his electrolytes have jumped all over the place. This is making it almost impossible to function normally. He is dehydrated, very malnourished, and lethargic. He has been in and out of the hospital since then, with the doctors trying to find the best way to rebalance sodium, potassium, magnesium, blood sugar, white blood cell and red blood cell levels.
In short, he’s a mess. But he’s a mess that puts his hope in Jesus!
Sometimes it's very difficult to figure out why God would allow something like this to happen. For Keith and Laurie, it was abundantly clear while in the ER one day. They were able to witness about God very specifically to an emergency room nurse and to a couple of the workers that were caring for Keith.
He truly and deeply appreciates all the prayers, all of the contacts, and all of your help as he tries to get better.
Let’s continue to strengthen him with prayer and support to help alleviate some of those medical bills!
“BUT THOSE WHO HOPE IN THE LORD WILL RENEW THEIR STRENGTH.
THEY WILL SOAR ON WINGS LIKE EAGLES;
THEY WILL RUN AND NOT GROW WEARY, THEY WILL WALK AND NOT BE FAINT.”
