Hi, my name is Steve Szumacher and I am fund raising for the family of Keith Watmough. Keith was a dear friend of mine. Our friendship started at the age of four, along with Ted May. Our friendship spanned over 60 years. No matter where we were, we always kept in touch.
His family not only has to deal with the untimely passing of Keith. But face medical bills and funeral costs along with other expenses.
Thank You,
Steve
Keith Charles Watmough, one-of-a-kind, city-dwelling mountain man passed in his sleep November 28, in Powell, Ohio.
Husband, father, truth-teller and seeker, Keith loved observing the natural world and spending time in the house he built -- sharing with family, reading, and playing piano and guitar.
A Chicago native, Keith was born December 27, 1958. As a young man, he left Illinois and hitchhiked across the country, treasuring solitude and building community along the way. He subsequently lived in Montana and the Carolinas before moving to Columbus, where he met Alice, his wife of 24 years. It was love at first sight. They went on to build a home together, and have one child, Mason, now a junior in computer engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
Keith worked with the Liberty Township/Powell YMCA for ten years until his diagnosis with AL cardiac amyloidosis in 2022. His singular depth, kindness, and humor will be missed by friends, family, and so many others who knew him only briefly.
In Keith's memory listen to Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with someone you love.
A memorial service for Keith will be announced at a later date.
