Keith Taylor is a 46 year old father, son and friend to many. As a single father raising 2 teenage children, as well as taking care of his aging parents that live full time with him and tending to the farm where he resides, Keith is always willing to help family and/or friends. Keith is also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Keith is employed in the construction industry and has an excellent work ethic and is very driven. He does all that he can to provide for his children and parents.
On Friday August 26th, Keith was in a motorcycle accident resulting in broken ribs, broken shoulder and a brain injury. Keith was life-flighted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where he fought for his life. Keith remained in a drug induced coma for 2 weeks during which time he developed pneumonia, another setback for his recovery. After battling for 4 long weeks at Grady Hospital, Keith was transferred to the Shepherd Center for intensive rehabilitation. Keith has worked hard toward regaining his strength and mobility, but is still experiencing weakness on his left side. He will be discharged from the Shepherd Center on October 27th. He will continue working on his rehabilitation through an outpatient program in Decatur for 5 ½ hours a day for 5 days a week. Keith is very determined he will make a full recovery and he is putting 100% of what he has toward achieving this goal.
Being the sole income earner in his household of 5, this accident, as you can imagine, has impacted the family’s financial situation. Keith has been out of work for 2 months and it is unclear how long his recovery through the outpatient rehabilitation will take. He is expected to make a full recovery and return to work at some point, but until then his family income has been impacted. Even with insurance coverage, the surmounting medical bills and travel expenses to and from outpatient rehabilitation will takes years and years to repay. If you can find it in your heart to help this family out, it would be much appreciated.
