Keith’s Story

Keith has been a husband to Sandra for 38 years, a dad to 3 grown children, and a grandfather to 4 beautiful granddaughters-ages 16, 15, 12 and 5.

Keith’s journey first started with battling severe COPD.

On September 29th Sandra had to take him to the emergency room and while there they were given the news that Keith has cancer.

In the days that followed they scheduled an appointment with his doctor where he was sent for tests & scans to see exactly what was going on and find out more about his cancer diagnosis.

Before he could get the results back from his doctor, things took a turn. The weekend of October 14th Sandra had to rush Keith to the emergency room once again.

He ended up being admitted to the hospital due to an infection in his body.

From there things would significantly go downhill.

Keith was diagnosed with stage 4 Adenocarcinoma of the colon.

They found out the cancer has spread to other parts of his body, including a tumor on his spine. The pressure from the tumor has caused a fracture in his back.

By Monday , October 16th, they were told Keith’s cancer is terminal and they don’t think his body can handle chemotherapy.

The plan from the doctor is to send him home and keep him as comfortable as possible.

Keith’s faith is strong and has peace about his eternal security, so facing the end of life here on earth has not shaken him.

His worst fear is leaving Sandra without the means to take care of things once he’s gone.
