Aloha Family and Friends! My name is Ana Galios Tokushima and I'm writing this on behalf of our friends that we call family Keith and Kimi Pongasi. Keith and Kimi met in 2001 and got married on May 28, 2004. They have two boys Kaleb and Kameron. Kaleb is currently a Freshman at Palomar College in California and Kameron is a Freshman at Mililani High School. Both boys are also currently on the Baseball Teams at both schools.
Keith aka "Coach Keith" a Kauai native, has been involved in our community since Kaleb was just 4 years old. He served as a Volunteer as an Assistant Coach, Head Coach, and a member of the Board in leagues such as the Central Oahu Baseball Association and The Cal Ripken League. He has coached so many of our youth and so many of them have moved on to the next level of playing High School Ball. His coaching has helped instill values as well as confidence in each player to play to the best of their ability. It was never about winning but about giving their 100 % on and off the field. He also currently assists at Mililani High School with field repairs and fundraisers. Let's just say Coach Keith has always been serving our community and others for many years while holding a full time job to support his family.
Coach Keith was working for Paul's Electric for many years until last year where he transferred to another Company as they felt as a family it would be a better fit for them. On Wednesday March 1st Coach Keith was involved in a serious accident on the job which has left him with second degree burns on the left side of his face and body. He is currently in the burn unit at Straub Hospital with at least a month to start for his care. Kimi has been with him as she needs to take care of all his affairs as he is unable to so she has also not been at work. However, she will be the one taking care of Keith when he is released. The financial burden has become surreal as they have a mortgage, college tuition and rent for Kaleb, their monthly bills, and just the cost of living. Because he was injured on the job, this may take a while for them to recover and receive any type of income.
This is where we (their family and friends) kindly ask for your help to ease the financial burden of this family. The unknowing of the outcome of this situation has also put a huge stressor on both Keith and Kimi. On the upside, Coach Keith is slowly recovering but has his good days and bad days. He is conscious but also in pain. We all know that God has a plan for Keith as he is still with us and Coach Keith is very thankful for that.
We understand that times are difficult for just about everyone so please help if you can. If not, please share this post ❤️ Please also pray for Coach Keith, Kimi, Kaleb, and Kameron for a speedy recovery for the rock of their family. Thank you all for your time and for stopping by. May God Bless each and every one of you.
