Keith Grand's hit and run accident
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,
On December 25th 2021 Keith was hit by what we can only presume was a drunk driver. He was turning into a parking lot when a vehicle came across two lanes and hit him head on. Keith had flipped over the handle bars and slammed directly face down into a curb causing multiple injuries. These include a suspected torn knee, broken wrist, broken forearm, broken elbow and fractured humerus and possible other torn ligaments in the shoulder. Upon the impact the driver immediately left the scene of the accident leaving Keith to fend for himself. He eventually made his was to the Emergency room for x-rays and was told he needed multiple surgeries and MRI's.
Unfortunately he is currently in a battle with his insurance company to cover the MRI's and X-rays, let alone the surgeries because they refuse to cover what they identified as "previously injured" body parts. The body parts they are referring to are from injuries sustained from his deployments in the United States Marine Corps. Long story short its been 5 days (12/25-12/30) and he still has not been able to receive and MRI so that he can get surgery. He was told that he can pay out of pocket for the MRI's and as of now that is his only option. Our fear is that his bones will heal incorrectly before he is able to get surgery and they may have to either re-break his arm and or he will sustain permanent damage from delayed treatment.
Due to the reckless actions of someone else; Keith will now incur: medical bills, lost wages and physical therapy.
Any donation that you are able to make is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
