UPDATE: After a long battle with brain cancer, Keith passed peacefully in his home, where he and his wife, Kathy, have lived and fostered love for over 10 years with their children and grandchildren. His family is incredibly grateful for all donations helping with his care, but still require assistance with funeral and living costs during their time of grief. Keith was a kind and loving soul, who was the definition of a great man. We greatly appreciate the support from all of his family and friends. Thank you.
Hi, my name is Chris. I’m fundraising for my brother Darren Keith Edney. He has been battling brain cancer for over 20 yrs. He has had 3 operations removing tumors. He recently had a stroke which has affected the function of his right side, including his speech. His motor skills have diminished to the point that he is unable to transfer to any surface, including the toilet without significant assist. The doctors have said the chemo and radiation is not working anymore and tumors are growing.
- Our mother (78yrs young) has been being his sitter along with his wife until now. Our family has decided they need more support, including a CNA to assist Keith with his required care like eating, showering and toileting care.
- Hospice supplies little support, and said private sitters and CNA’s are our responsibility. Planning ahead for this unforeseen medical condition is taking a toll on their finances due to mounting medical bills.
- Please give what you can and we will find the right person or persons to help with his care.
