Keith Burnams last days, memorial fund
Donation protected
I met my soulmate, Keith Burnam in 2015.
Both of us were previously married (to other people) for 23 years, and we both had two children about the same ages. We knew it was mean to be, and in 2017 we were married!
However, only a year later, in 2018, Keith started having some pretty serious health issues.
After seeing many specialists &crazy tests, Uof M diagnosed Keith with a few VERY RARE autoimmune/neurological diseases. One of them being called "CIPO, "which is a disabling gastrointestinal motility disorder, making it near impossible to eat & keep food down, all of it comes back up, within minutes, because the nerves in his stomach do not coralate with his brain.
He was then put on TPN for 14 hours a day.
Multipule tests were given, surgeries, (including a bowel resection) procedures, weekly blood draws, homecare nurses, additional iv therapies, hospial stays, I could go on..
So here we are, four years later, his kidneys are failing, his body can not handle the iv liquid nutrients, hes been decling steadly, pain & nausea is unbearable.
He's tired of the poking and prodding, & useless doctor appointments every week.
I was fortunate enough to be able to be his fulltime advacate &caregiver for the last four years. It has been the most challenging years of our lives, but grateful nevertheless.
Keith made the decision last week, to go on hospice.
I cannot imagine not having him here with me, but I do understand his decision.
Our hospice nurse said he probably two weeks left.:(
One week has already gone by. I pray she is wrong.
I know so many of you have been praying & following our health journey &
if you feel it in your heart to make a donation, so that we can have a "celebration of life" (no amount is to small)
Thank you & God bless ya'll!
