Let’s start by going back about a month Ago A Family of a Kind loving Man Named
Keith Barclay was told The most devastating news that there were some lesions on his liver and then his lungs and gradually, cancer was found in multiple places, his head, his jaw, but biopsy’s and treatment kept being put on hold as they found more and wanted more tests. He went in and out of hospital, and on the morning of Monday 30th June, his wife Karen called him an ambulance when he couldn’t get out of bed and hold his own head up.

That was the start of the downhill spiral which no one could ever of seen coming.
thinking he was there to fight an infection, Karen and daughter Niki went home for the evening to be woken up to a phone call at 1.15am to say it was looking like he wouldn’t make it through the night.
They, Keith’s son Paul, and granddaughter Tilly all made their way and then spent the next few hours waiting for answers. We knew by now, and only now it was stage 4 cancer, basically all over and there was nothing that could be done.
This is another story of how disgusting Keith was treated by not knowing what was happing to him.
Keith was kept comfortable and put up a good fight that meant the few hours they thought he’d last would be 16 hrs before he took his final breathe, with all his family by his side.

The doctors and consultants involved in the last month of Keith life, and some even years back have severely let down the Barclay family, and Keith as this was never expected, or told how serious this would be.
To go from going to the park with grandchildren 2 weeks ago, catching tadpoles to then passing away with no warning after a day of being seriously ill has really shocked the family to the core and they had absolutely no time to prepare and get their heads round this.

The hole that Keith has left has not only been felt massively by family but the many friends and family across the community, and especially Sutton road where he would sit daily in his wheelchair having chats with everyone that passed, taking time to find out about their day.

Keith had so much in life thrown at him, from being shot and paralysed, Cancer of the bladder years ago, 3rd degree burns and so much more in between that this makes the end to his life even more unfair and sad.
He was the first to be the listening ear for many, giving his advice, and normally a silly song with it all or some kind of funny insult that he meant lovingly.

Karen will find herself at a loss of what to do when the coming weeks, months and years and this will only be heightened by the burden of less income with 3 young grandchildren living at home still to support and provide for, The 3 Young Grandchildren Tilly Jaymee & Reggie Have Been Raised By Karen And Keith Since Birth So Keith Wasn’t Just A Grandad He Was A Dad To Them.

The added unexpected expense of a funeral will now add to that stress and burden and it would be so lovely to see just a slight smile put back on her face anytime in the future.

as said, Keith had many people who knew and loved him so if in anyway, anyone of them could spare even just a few pennies, maybe the cost of a bunch of flowers instead of giving them, I’m sure the family would appreciate every single bit of help, knowing that people care, just as much as Keith cared.

We Are Trying To Raise £2000 Towards Funeral Cost But We Will Be Very Grateful And Thankful For Any Amount We Can Raise As This Will Help The Family Give Keith The Best Send Off He Deserves.
