Keith and Deloris Clugston Support

Donation protected

Keith Clugston, 61, was diagnosed with Advanced (Stage 4) Prostate Cancer in March 2021. Till the cancer was discovered it had already metastasized into his bones. Keith has been receiving various treatments since March. He has just completed radiation therapy and will begin IV Chemo in August, 2021. There is currently not a cure for this type of cancer. The number of Keiths days are in the Lord's hands and he has committed his Life to serving God no matter if his time on earth is a year or 10 years. So far, Keith has remained strong and active.

Keith was born in Shippensburg, Pa. to Warren and Lois Clugston in 1959. In 1973, as Keith was about to enter 9th grade, they moved to McConnellsburg, Pa. Keith graduated from Central Fulton High School class of 1977. He married Deloris Martin in 1980. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in 2020. They have 6 Children and 22 grandchildren.

Keith has remained active in Fulton County for many years. He has been known to serve the farmers and citizens of the county, not only through his business ventures, but also as a friend, pastor, spiritual advisor, and neighbor. Throughout the years, Keith has been an owner in several small business' in Fulton County, PA: Clugston Farm Equipment, Needmore, Pa; Clugston's Country Bakery, McConnellsburg, Pa; and more recently has opened Clugston's Market & Cafe, McConnellsburg, Pa.

Many of you have asked how you can help our parents out. We, as Keith's children, felt that sometimes being able to give a few dollars means a lot to people that have been impacted by another. Keith has given to many over the years and continues to give even during his illness. He is not one to complain or to ask for anything. While there are not large outstanding needs, they do have some needs that folks could help with. So, if Keith has given to you and you wish to give back this is your opportunity.

1. Trip to Alaska

Keith and Deloris have always dreamed of going to Alaska. They planned to go in 2020 for their 40th but that of course didn't happen. Their doctors have graciously allowed them to fulfill this bucket list item prior to reviewing chemo. The Oncologist said it is safe and would be even more enjoyable before receiving more heavy medications. They are planning a trip the end of July and beginning of August. Even though there were few hotels, rental cars, etc left. A friend connected them with someone that has a rental RV and they have purchased tickets.

2. A New House

Keith and Deloris have lived for all of their married life in the Great Cove on the same property. Due to Keiths health, they plan to break ground in 2021 on a new house that is more suitable for his current and future needs. They will be selling their house in the near future. This will cover much of the cost, however, building a handicap accessible house comes with its own costs.

3. Medical Care.

Keith's medical bills so far have been covered in various ways. However, he is uninsured and as such there will be ongoing bills. Our goal is to raise money through the community and church families so that our mom does not have to bear the burden of the medical care. If someone would like to give a tax-deductible donation solely to Keith's medical care, they can reach out on this page or to Alan Clugston of the Mountain View Mennonite Church for more information.

Any money received will be used to fund items above at their discretion. We wish to be transparent with how this money is being used and will keep a detailed record of that. If you wish for more information on how the money is being used, please contact us at the contact us page.

We as a family cannot thank each of you enough for the many ways in which you have supported and cared for each of us and for our parents. We cannot imagine traveling this journey without each of you. Even though not everything is going according to our desires or plans, we recognize that because of Jesus Christ we are blessed beyond measure.

Sincerely,

The Children of Keith and Deloris Clugston
