We are LaToya Vines-Derrick and Michael Mohan Joshua, two dope entrepreneurs and writers. LaToya is an LGBTQ African American college graduate that loves creating and connecting with creative minds. Michael is a multi-talented creator with a passion for art, entertainment, and writing. We are both radical, free-thinkers, and excited about life.
In a time of rebellion and revolution, we’ve made the conscious choice to be openly daring and write this book. We’re fighters - each day we fight like hell in our words and actions, both offline in our communities and in life, hoping to prove people wrong about the power of poetry and spoken word. We’re dreamers - our ideas and writing acknowledge our reality but it also challenges those around us to imagine beyond it.
The Plan
We’re raising money to expand visibility and to create videos for selected poems. It is our hope to create at least 10 performance videos of the written content. This will require contracting other professionals that generally charge between $1000-$5000 per video. We’ll keep each other accountable. We commit to providing our donators FIRST glance at all finished video content, as a thank you. With your help in reaching our goal we’ll have been given the space and time to work on the remaining art and creativity while being able to compensate other creators, whose help we need.
Our goal is $25,000.
It’ll pay for video producing contracts, radio advertising, supplies, transportation, and other bills incurred while furthering the projects reach.
Our topics and content cover just about every facet of thought and life.
