Keionte Williams’ Homecoming

Hi, our names are Paula Lenard and Sherry Lopez. Our boys, Kaden Jones and Nick Lopez, met Keionte Williams when he joined the Optimist Highlander Football team. Both of our boys connected immediately with him. In the spring of the boys 7th grade year at Bailey Junior High, Keionte was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the knee. Prior to this diagnosis, he wore #22(Highlanders) and #3(Rams). It didn’t matter what position this kid played, he played it exceptionally! Keionte wasn’t just an all star athlete, he was an all star friend! He was the true definition of a team player! His team rallied behind his treatment by making sure to show up at surgeries and treatments. They did that because of the character that Keionte displayed. True brotherhood. The days on the football field were shortened by the treatment that was needed to fight his cancer. The boys never left and neither did he, Keionte showed up at their games in support as they showed up for him. We were able to witness the true meaning to brotherhood on the day Keionte entered into his forever home. That team showed up because Keionte was and will forever be a true leader, a fierce fighter, all star team player, and a friend that will never be forgotten. As our hearts ache, Keionte will live on in all of us! Keionte’s family appreciates everything that you have all done during this difficult time! We love you Keionte. #22Highlanders #3Rams #3foreverCOLT #brotherhood
