Hi everyone, we are reaching out on behalf of our mom, Betty Keil-Stevenson and our family after a devastating flash flood tore through the home we all grew up in, leaving about 14 inches of water and thick mud behind. In just moments, so much was lost—furniture, keepsakes, family heirlooms, and decades of memories. The bathrooms, kitchen, and most of the bedrooms lie bare now from all the water and mud damage. So many of the things my mom saved from our childhoods were destroyed. While nothing can replace those memories, they meant everything to our family.
If you know our mom, you know her smile. She’s always been someone who brings warmth wherever she goes, offers a kind word, finds joy and laughter in little things. She would never ask for help herself, which is why we’re asking for her.
As a family, we’re doing everything we can to clean, salvage what we can, and begin rebuilding. We’ve already been incredibly blessed by the overwhelming love and support we’ve received. Family, friends, neighbors, and members of the church who’ve shown up with shovels, meals, prayers, and reminders that we’re not alone. We are so incredibly grateful.
Many other families in our community were also affected and our hearts are with each of them. While this fundraiser is focused on helping our mom recover and rebuild her home, if we are blessed to receive more than is needed for her recovery, it is our sincere hope to pay that kindness forward and support other families facing this difficult road. We’ve set an initial goal of 50,000 dollars as a realistic starting point toward cleanup and rebuilding, though total repairs may cost much more. Every donation, after standard payment processing fees, will go directly toward helping my mom rebuild our family home and begin putting the pieces back together. Any amount truly helps. And if you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this means more than you know.
Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and for standing with our family.
With gratitude,
The Keil-Stevenson Family
