In honor of Keiland Armstead, who was taken from us much too soon after a hard fought battle with cancer. All monies donated will be used to establish a college fund for Keiland’s 1 year old son, KJ.
Backstory:
Imagine wanting nothing more than to have a healthy baby and start a family with the person you love. After many months of trying, we finally conceived and our son was born January 16, 2017. Not long after my husband started experiencing some discomfort in his side that turned to pain. And even after a doctor visit and trying many things, the pain got worse. After a few weeks the pain got so bad that we were sent to the emergency room. We assumed he had kidney stones and were stunned when the doctor announced that he had cancer. C A N C E R. It started in the colon and has spread to his liver, the tumors were casuing the pain in his side.
My husband was a healthy 39 year old that worked out regularlly, ate a fairly healthy diet and was overjoyed about the birth of our son, Keiland Edward (aka KJ). He helped with diapers, late night feedings, and storytime. Keiland wanted nothing more than be a great father. He had 40 rounds of chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking the tumors enough for surgery, and he tried many different treatment options during his battle. Keiland would always say he’d do whatever he had to so he could stay with his wife and son. He passed away on November 30, 2018 after fighting for 21 months.
