Nate Goldberg here, coming at you with some VERY exciting news.

Since August, I’ve been writing, developing, and producing my junior thesis film here at LMU’s School of Film and Television. Currently, I’m in the midst of pre-production. It’s finally happening!

The film is called Kegs Out.

The brief synopsis: On the one-year anniversary of their role model’s death, four party-hard friends task one lad with finding a special keg to honor him. What starts as a simple mission turns into something far bigger.

It’s a short comedy about friendship, community, St. Patrick’s Day, and, you guessed it… beer. With subtle elements of magic and a hoppy, powerful “gift from God” finale, it’s loud, heartfelt, chaotic, and EXACTLY the kind of story I’ve always wanted to tell.

This project is the culmination of years of creative ideas and everything I’ve learned in LMU’s film production program. Now I’m at the stage where I need real support to bring it to life.

What’s the goal?

We’re aiming to raise $10,000 to help cover things like equipment rentals, gear transportation, permits, set dressing, food for cast and crew, festival submissions, etc...

I know… $10,000 is no joke. This level of logistics, creativity, and complexity requires resources beyond a college student’s budget!

For the price of a beer, a Friday night pizza, or even a used 1990 Toyota Corolla, you can help turn this film from an idea into a story that puts a smile on people’s faces. We all need to laugh a bit these days.

We’ll be filming at: Obs Bar & Grill – Manhattan Beach, Rock & Brews – El Segundo, - Rolling Hills Prep – San Pedro (my high school, tying my creative journey together)

Nate Goldberg is an LA-based producer and filmmaker currently completing his junior thesis at LMU. With a background in development, editing, and production, he’s passionate about telling bold, community-driven stories that mix heart, humor, and a little chaos. He’s beyond grateful to be working with this incredible team and can’t wait to bring Kegs Out to life.

Sam Strachan - Producer & 1st Assistant Director

Sam Strachan is an LA-based producer and assistant director with hands-on experience across LMU thesis films, AFI cycle films, and independent productions. He brings a sharp logistical eye and collaborative energy to every project, and is so grateful to be working with the Kegs Out dream team!

Tessa Barkley - Producer

Tessa Barkley is a producer and screenwriter from Los Angeles. She has extensive experience working on thesis projects, independent projects, and promotional shoots. Her skills in story development are complimented by her logistical abilities in planning. She is beyond thrilled to work with the ambitious crew of Keg’s Out!

Jakob Rosen - Director of Photography & Producer

Jakob Rosen is a cinematographer originally from Colorado. With a background in visual storytelling, lighting, and camera movement, he’s passionate about crafting bold, cinematic images that serve story and emotion. He’s beyond grateful to be working with this incredible Kegs Out! team and can’t wait to bring the project to life.

Jack Leary - Production Designer & Art Director

Jack Leary is a graphic design student at Loyola Marymount University and a set designer working across music videos and film projects. Originally from the Bay Area, he brings a West Coast sensibility to his work on set. He’s excited to be part of the Kegs Out team and contribute to bringing the film’s world to life. He continues to collaborate on projects that live at the intersection of design and storytelling.
