Our family lost everything in a devastating fire
Donation protected
Our brother, Steve, his family, and our mom lost everything in a devastating fire. The fire was intense and it took less than an hour to burn everything they own, leaving them with only what they were wearing.
To provide some context on the scale and scope of the fire, below is the list of the emergency vehicles that were deployed to render aid. We are so grateful for all of their efforts!!!
- Units assigned - Engine 24, Engine 14, Engine 7, Engine 11, Rescue 87, Tanker 4, Tanker 13, Tanker 20, District 72, Battalion 11, ES4, (Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal), ES42, (Health &Safety Officer)and ES2 (Fire Chief)
- Mutual aid from Clay County responding - Engine 11, Engine 23, Engine 25, Tender 238, Tender 149, Rescue 23, Rescue 25, Ladder 1, Training 603, Battalion 2
We are so very thankful no humans were hurt; however, we are still trying to find our dad's dog, Max. Steve got him and the other dogs out of the burning RV, but Max has not been seen since. We are holding on to a tiny sliver of hope that he ran off in all of the chaos and confusion. Tragically, every day that goes by diminishes our hope that he somehow survived.
Our family has a long recovery ahead, so we are raising money to help them get back on their feet through the difficult days ahead.
We know times are difficult, but any small donation would be greatly appreciated and would help so much. Contributions will go directly towards helping cover essential expenses, such as temporary housing, clothing, food, and other costs not covered by their insurance as they work to rebuild their life from the ashes.
Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and kindness for our family - we greatly appreciate it! Please share!
With much love, the Harris Family
