Kegan Mitts: Support during Road to Recovery

Kegan Mitts (my soon to be son-in-law) was in a severe dirtbike accident on Saturday, June 15, 2024 in Mahaska County, Iowa. He was taken by ambulance to Mahaska Health, "stabilized" & then directly transported to the University of Iowa for further testing, treatment & continued observation; he is currently in the ICU. Kegan's injuries include: severe concussion causing some memory loss, collarbone broken in 3 places, left ribcage 2-4 broken, slight fractures to left ankle & foot, a plethora of surface to deep road rash/lacerations, along with some secondary ailments arising as the layers of injuries begin to expose themselves.

Kegan is the sole provider for his family of 5. Leah, his fiance & my daughter, Waylon, their 8 month old, Jack & Gypsy, their two furbabies.

In addition to this traumatic accident with an undetermined amount of months off of work, Kegan, Leah, Waylon & pets are required to be moved out of their current living situation in Oskaloosa by at most, the 3rd week of July 2024. They have not been able to secure a place, do not have family currently able to take them in. We live almost 2 hours apart (myself Linn County, Iowa). Any suggestions will be welcomed.

The road to recovery is going to be long, difficult and painful; physically, mentally & financially. Please help support Kegan & his family during one of the most trying times of their young lives.
