Keesan's Cricket Tour of South Africa

My name is Keesan. I am 12 years old and live in the Isles of Scilly. I play cricket for Cornwall and I’ve been selected for the tour around South Africa in February 2020.
How it all started was with my dad and me playing cricket together in the garden. I remember that day and I will remember it for the rest of my life. I just loved playing and I kept playing until my dad got tired.
I always had a drive to play this sport; it is my life. If I couldn’t play this game, I don’t know what I would do. I would play all year if I could. I started playing when I was three. Cricket is my safe place; I would always go and bowl at the wall if I was frustrated with anything. My passion for the game has shown me how I need to get to professional standards. That’s how it all began and now I have been selected to play in South Africa in February 2020. I am so lucky to have this chance to go and play at such a young age.
For the past three years I have been playing for Cornwall and my progress and ability has got better but there is always work to do and that’s how I try and think.
My confidence has come from all my friends and family and the way that they have helped me through hard times. It’s the only thing I could have wanted; they are my drive and they have got me here today – thank you, everyone! I try and push myself harder because of my family and friends, including my family who have passed away. This is why I have to try and push myself harder then everyone else to be best of my ability because they have done so much for me. It’s time to represent them when I go away to train and to play matches.
Now I am training for and raising money to tour South Africa in February 2020 with the Cornwall Under 13s. If you are able to help me to reach my goal, I would appreciate any support you can give. Thank you.
