On February 14, 2019, my husband Joe was asked to leave his job by the foreman because he was having difficulty breathing from climbing stairs and hitting the wall in an attempt to catch his breath. That was it I told Joe, we're going to the emergency room. Two weeks prior to this date, Joe was diagnosed with pneumonia and because he is the provider that he is, he continued to go to work. Had Joe not been asked to leave work on February 14th, the doctor's would not have discovered that he had a blood clot in his lung and stage four lung cancer, that had metastasized to his brain, spine, lymph nodes, kidney and liver. 

Since then, Joe has undergone radiation of his brain and spine, immunotherapy, prednisone, and as of July 3rd, chemotherapy. After starting chemotherapy, he became anemic and needed a blood transfusion. He's had two rounds of chemotherapy and will have brain and spine scans to assess the the effectiveness of the chemotherapy. 

Joe is a fun loving, hard working, big-hearted, stubborn, and smart man, who has since lost his ability to be the provider he has loved to be. He has also lost his ability to drive and maintain our home. This condition has certainly taken a toll on him and his lively-hood. As his wife, it has been difficult and humbling to witness his journey thus far.

It has not been an easy decision for me to develop a Go Fund Me campaign for my husband Joe, because asking for help isn't the easiest or most comfortable thing to do. With my deepest gratitude and appreciation and on behalf of Joe, I ask that you consider donating.
