Hello,
We are hoping to get some assistance for our great friends Andrew and Kat (and Mar) as they are currently facing a heartbreaking medical crisis for their beloved puppy. Before we go too deep into the financials, I would like to provide a little background on Cali’s situation.
On June 18th, 2019 this sweet little filthy, malnourished, flea covered pup walked into their front yard. She walked into their home and collapsed on the floor from dehydration and starvation. They instantly brought her water and after three bowls she started showing her true personality. They tried looking for her owners while making sure her needs were taken care of. Kat has never been much of a dog person, but this sweet little girl captured Kat’s heart and they decided Cali should be part of the family permanently.
Fast forward to a few months later, Kat and Andrew noticed that Cali started showing significant symptoms of pain, but they had no idea why. After multiple vet visits and numerous diagnostic tests, Cali was finally diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia which requires bilateral hip replacements. The vet had told Kat and Andrew that this is the most severe case of hip dysplasia he had seen, especially in a 9-month-old puppy, which brings us to the worst-case scenario.
Cali’s bilateral hip replacements costs approximately $4,000.00-$7,000.00 per hip plus an additional $5,000.00 in after surgery care costs which could be in upwards of $19,000.00. We realize this is an exorbitant amount of money and are asking for any help that can be provided as this sweet 9-month-old puppy deserves a chance at a wonderful life with a wonderful home. Let’s help take the burden off of Kat and Andrew this holiday season.
