I don't really believe that sob stories are the best way to "earn" donations, so I won't go into one. My girlfriend and I moved to Philadelphia so that we could have more job opportunities, and we felt after a year of saving every dollar we had while living with my parents that we had saved enough to get us through the short time until we found full time jobs. Well, almost 4 months into our time here and neither of us have had any luck job hunting. We are surviving on my part-time adjuncting job and her bike deliveries with Door Dash and the like, which she can't do when it's as cold or as snowy as it has been. We were just barely staying afloat, and we've just been surprised with an electric bill for over $600. Our rent is only twice that--we can't do it on what we have. My parents are already doing more than their share to take care of us, and we can't do it anymore. We both have been applying for jobs and interviewing when we can, but we can't get jobs that aren't offered to us. Anything helps.
