When you are considering some charitable giving this year, please keep Cape Coral’s only live theater and Lee County’s oldest nonprofit theater in mind. The Covid-19 pandemic has and continues to deplete the theaters financial funds on a daily basis. When the theater reopened, we knew that we would play to much smaller audiences but wanted to give the community a safe way to seek live theater entertainment. While we are so happy that our theater, using its
Covid-19 guidelines has remained open and has not had to close as a result of illness, still our Covid-19 policies have come at a much increased operational cost based on the much added expense of cleaning and sterilizing our facility. Also with social distancing resulting in decreased patrons as we only may seat 55 patrons on our 184 seat theater per performance and the cost of mounting productions continues to out weigh the revenues coming into the theater.
We survived the closure earlier based on support of our actors and patrons but when we reopened some people thought the financial problems of this 58 year old theater company was spared. Sadly that is not true and our organization still is teetering on financial collapse.
Thank you, and please consider helping us save this theater and save money on your taxes by supporting us.
