Hi,

My name is Shawn Alter; for the past 10 years, Van, also known as Jenny outside of work, has been dealing with a hard life.

Immigrating to Canada at the age of 12 from Vietnam.

Van grew up in an abusive home, led by her Aunt; who raised her.

Subsequently working most of her life in the food industry; to send money back home to support her brothers and Parents, Jenny didn't have much of a social life.

Constantly working and striving to her very best.

When I met Van (Jenny), it was 10 years ago. She was battling cancer, but still had a zest for life.

In October 2018, after getting a Job @ Woodbine Casino.

She was doing better. Unfortunately while I was working, in the same place, she fell in the washroom at home; and got a concussion.

Since that time it has been a downward turn of events, in and out to see Doctor's and Specialist's.

Just recently She got a Bronchitis infection in her throat, and had an adverse effect with the antibiotics.

She wasn't able to eat solid foods; all that she could consume was boost supplement meals, and homemade soups.

She feared that going to the Hospital would have the same outcome; as it did for my Mom; 30 days prior.

Getting covid and dying.

On February 26th in the evening, Van (Jenny) succumbed to her injuries and died peacefully with family.

I ask that you help, as you can, as keeping her wishes to bury her; is more than I can afford.

I don't want to go against her wishes for cremation.

She deserves better, she deserves the world.
