Losing a job sucks.... Being unable to pay the bills makes it worse.

I am updating this original fundraiser to reflect its new goals, since I was able to get the power turned back on thankfully.

I lost my 20-year government contracting job one year ago due to some contract changes that left me the odd-man-out as they moved forward without me. I was the only one dismissed but that is neither here, nor there. Regardless, despite hundreds of applications sent out over the last 12 months, I have yet to land steady employment beyond a couple of nights behind a bar during the week. And it isn't busy enough to make what I need to pay the bills. I am still applying, still asking for referrals for job opportunities, but I have not had any luck just yet.

I just need to make sure I can prevent the power from being turned off again, keep food in my kitchen, and my car in my possession while I am trying to find consistent work and to get back and forth from my limited part time job. I'm not looking for perpetual help, just enough that I can pay BGE extra to put credit on my account that they can pull from for awhile, and keep my car in my possession so I can keep looking for work and get to and from my bartending gig. Anything would be appreciated.
