Shareen has been praying for her family long before she even had one of her own. And when she and her high school sweetheart, Blake finally married, I could only imagine the conversations they had dreaming about the family they would once raise together. What came next for them couldn’t be further from those dreams, walking through the diagnosis of a rare, genetic kidney disease that led to a kidney transplant for young Blake. But through God’s miraculous plans, He gave Blake a renewed life with a kidney transplant and placed on their hearts, new visions for their family. On April 12, 2019, their unconventional dreams came true when Jada and Zola officially became their daughters, forever grafted into the Crawford family. Blake, Shareen, Jada and Zola have been forever changed, in the most amazing way, as together they’ve experienced God’s awesome love, grace and abundant blessings through this beautiful gift called FAMILY.

The Crawfords are in the throws of a new challenge, with an unforeseen obstacle that they must navigate together. But this time, Blake and Shareen are praying, believing, trusting and now modeling their belief in their faithful God for their daughters as well. Jada, their oldest, was initially diagnosed with Lupus just a couple years ago. As many of you know, Jada’s condition has quickly worsened to severely impact her kidneys. She is currently in kidney failure with the hopes of recovering function in the months ahead. Her treatment is rare, complex, and full of other risks. But the risks outweigh the need to provide life-saving treatment for her. She is one of only a few children with her disease profile that has ever received the treatment she is now getting. Although this sounds scary, this treatment has had a great success rate in patients who have this same disease as Jada. We are thanking God for her World-Class treatment and a team of expert doctors that have been squarely focused on her care and the best plan possible for her! God is so good! She is truly in THE BEST care and is already showing a positive response to her treatments!

Which brings us to today and the purpose of this Gofundme campaign. It is anticipated that the road home and complete wholeness will be a long one as there are many steps and layers to her healing over the months and even years ahead. Many of you have been asking of practical ways to help the Crawfords and honestly, #1 - PRAYER is the most effective and practical need. We have seen firsthand how prayer has changed the atmosphere in Jada’s hospital room and has made drastic changes in regulating Jada’s body systems and the family’s peace and rest. Please continue to earnestly pray for Jada and her family. We have continued to do our prayers “8 @ 8”. 8 minutes at 8am and 8pm every day (These are Jada’s medication times). Prayer changes things and Blake and Shareen have felt our prayers! #2 While toys and material gifts are a nice gesture, there are just so many they can take in and store. Monetary gifts are more practical and can best be used to meet vital needs such as meals, funding much needed travel and housing expenses for their frequent visits to Stanford. Blake and Shareen are literally tagging each other out as they pass each other and take turns spending time with either Jada in the hospital or home in Lodi, 100 miles away, with Zola and trying to balance work at the same time. The need for an Airbnb is anticipated when Jada is transitioning from staying in a hospital room at Stanford but still being monitored before they move her home back in Lodi. This would be a place they could again be under the same roof as a family. Hotels and additional Airbnb's would most likely be used on weekends following Jada’s release from the hospital as the Crawford family would need to travel to Stanford EVERY week for Jada’s specialized dialysis treatments. Additional funds would also go toward reimbursement of medical expenses and offsetting income as both Blake and Shareen have had to take extended leave from their jobs.

We KNOW we serve an AMAZING GOD who has gone before this family and has set them up with the best-of-the-best care. We are on the lookout for His continued miracles and are here to see the Crawfords through…praying and holding up their arms through this battle!
