Keeping the Boats safe

I am of very small relevance to the situation for Joe Laber & Katie Era who were both involved & miraculously survived a horrible accident that has shook our local community.

We are still waiting to see if Joe will come through, as of right now he's paralyzed (we should all know more in a few days).

The goal we want to achieve is "keeping his boats safe". He has 1 work boat that's been being worked on & stored in Cambridge & another boat; a skipjack in Deal. We want to cover the cost of keeping the boats in storage until Joe knows he can either walk again, or not (at which point he can make his decision on what he will do with his boats) If he can walk again - he WILL need the boats to continue making a living & supporting his mother/father & son. Not to mention he will need them to be able to pay for any cost that will arrive from this horrible accident.

Any funds from this platform will go directly to the boat yards first, I have been in contact with boat yards and we are all forming a plan - or trying to. Any remaining funds will be allocated directly towards medical expenses since Joe did not have health insurance.

Any little bit helps.

Joe does not know that this is being done & it is the last thing that he needs to worry about. There are definitely bigger fish to fry on the plate he has sitting in-front of him. Please help in any way you can, even if it is reaching out and offering to keep an eye on the vessels or keeping an eye on his son.

Please keep praying for both parties in this, both have families they need to take care.

10/10/23 - As of right now, it is all a waiting game to see if the movement abilities will come back. Breathing tubes are hopefully coming out this week and maybe he will be able to have conversations again. Please keep praying. We all know Joe is strong willed, but he still has an extremely long road ahead of him. Thank you to everyone who has helped so far donate towards his boats. And thank you to everyone who is going above and beyond to help the boats get ready to be safely stored until further notice. And a huge thank you to those who are stepping up to help take care of his family and make sure that they can get back and forth to see their son.
