Keeping Poetry Accessible Worldwide: Fund a Scholarship
Donation protected
My name is Elaine Nutter-Diaz and I am creating this GoFundMe for my dad, Geoffrey Nutter. My dad is deeply passionate about both poetry and teaching. He started Wallson Glass Poetry Seminars, an online platform that brings people together from across the globe to write poetry. His goal is to make poetry accessible to everyone, and bring a community of kindred spirits together in the common cause of living a life of the imagination and poetry in a world and an era that too often undervalues or is openly hostile to these things. Wallson Glass Poetry is now his full-time job.
People from all over the world come to these sessions. Recently participants have come from Iran, India, Germany, Turkey, Finland, Syria, Pakistan, Egypt, Uruguay, Qatar, Mexico, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Nepal, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, England, Canada, China, the Netherlands, and every state in the United States. Many individuals from different countries (and the USA) struggle to afford these workshops, for reasons ranging from economic need, to personal life situations, to countries’ exchange rates that make paying tuition impossible. Despite this, he has never turned anyone away. I am creating this GoFundMe to raise funds for scholarships, ensuring that people young and old, from all countries and economic conditions and experience levels, can have poetry in their lives; and so that Geoffrey is able to continue devoting his time to keeping Wallson Glass Poetry Seminars alive and thriving. Thank you all, and we appreciate your support!
We're asking for any amount--even a few dollars can help. Thank you!
