My little car seems to have been having a few problems lately, and being on disability pension, its been difficult to keep up repairs for it, when more urgent (medical) repairs are needed for the Teen and I.

Today is had an unexpected breakdown that cost $420 via the wonderful RACQ, who came to my rescue. I cant fault them. They got to me fast, and the mechanic was lovely, but apologetic about the cost, which was entirely not his fault.

The thing is, I've also been trying, rather desperately, to save for some much needed long term repairs too, which will cost me a further $1800. I have the quote, I've just been hoping to save up before the actual parts are irretrievably broken and cause more damage.

Unfortunately recent medical expenses, not covered by Medicare, have gotten in the way.
