I am raising funds for myself and my children because we are on the verge of losing our home. I am about to be homeless with my kids, and I am doing everything I can to catch up, but I cannot do it alone anymore. As the only income earner in our household of four, I make $18,000 a year, and the gap between what we need and what I can cover has become impossible to manage.
I am caring for a disabled child while trying to keep up with our most basic bills. Right now, I am $4,000 behind on my mortgage, $3,000 behind on my car, and $2,000 behind on my electric bill. We also do not have heating oil for the winter. On top of that, I receive only $180 in food assistance for our family of four, so I am constantly forced to choose between buying food and household essentials or trying to pay down our bills.
Because I am in Chapter 13 bankruptcy, it is very important that I get caught up as soon as possible. This is not just a one-time setback. These housing, utility, transportation, and food needs continue month after month, and predictable support would help me keep up with the essentials while I work to stabilize things for my children. One-time donations are also deeply appreciated and would go directly toward catching up on the mortgage, car, electric bill, heating oil, food, household necessities, and the major repairs that also need to be taken care of. If you are able to give on a recurring basis, that steady help would make a real difference.
I never ask anyone for help, and I would not be asking now if I truly did not need it. I am a very dedicated mother and a giving and caring person who is unfortunately going through a very rough time.
If you can help in any amount, or even share this fundraiser, it would mean so much to me and my kids. Your support would help us stay housed, keep the lights on, and get through this incredibly hard time.
